National Film Foundation of Russian Federation (Russian Gosfolmofond)


Gosfilmofond of Russia is a federal government state-funded cultural institution-cinematic organization, that is storing collections of movies and other film materials, as well as implements collecting, art manufacturing, culturally educational, artistically historical, filmographic, methodological and informative activities. The organization is located in Domodedovo, Moscow Oblast, at Beliye Stolby Microdistrict, Gosfilmofond Prospekt.

Gosfilmofond Russia has the largest and one of the world’s best cinematic collection, with about 70 000 titles of movies or 967 000 rolls of film material – from silent pictures of the Lumiere brothers filmed in France in 1895, to modern works of Russian and foreign cinema , which are the masterpieces of visual history. In addition to movies Gosfilmofond keeps 450000 units of cinematograpic memorabilia (posters, photographs, literary script, etc.)

The Government of Russian Federation provides legal, financial and logistical support necessary for the preservation, integrity and inalienability of the movie collection from other film materials Gosfilmofond.

Gosfilmofond of Russia has an exclusive right to use their own means of identification and manage its exclusive rights on intellectual activity results, including the provision to another person the right to use relevant results, having proper official contract.
